Lily Hope, along with technical assistance from Sydney Akagi, is working on a full-size Chilkat robe woven fully from mountain goat wool. This robe is commissioned by the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Lily will join her fellow weavers, Laine Rinehart and Sydney Akagi, to discuss the importance of material sovereignty and how this robe represents an important milestone for the Northwest Coast community.
The talk will be moderated by Jordan Cocker, Curator of Indigenous Art at Crystal Bridges.
You are invited to join us live at 6pm at KTOO Studios in Juneau, AK for the recorded panel that will be released the week of July 14.
